<h2><span id="toc1">日田彦山線の概要</span></h2>



<p>JR九州の日田彦山（ひたひこさん）線は、福岡県の城野駅から大分県の夜明駅を結んでいます。</p>



<p>そのうち添田から夜明間は2017年の九州北部豪雨を受けて</p>



<p>長らく不通となっていましたが、2023年8月28日にBRTひこぼしラインとして復旧しました。</p>

<p>BRTはBus Rapid Transitの略で、日田彦山線のBRTは一般道や、</p>



<p>線路跡などを舗装した専用道を走行します。</p>

<h2><span id="toc2">小倉駅から日田彦山線の列車に乗車</span></h2>



<p>まずはBRTに乗るために、小倉駅から添田行きの列車に乗車します。</p>

<p>乗車するのは、2両編成の気動車です。</p>



<p>日田彦山線は、今となっては数を減らしつつあるキハ40(140)系が活躍しています。</p>

<p>小倉駅を発車後は、しばらく小倉の都市部を走った後</p>



<p>北九州の山々を眺めながら、BRT始発駅へ向けて進み</p>



<p>列車は約1時間20分で、添田駅に到着します。</p>

<h2><span id="toc3">添田駅のBRT設備</span></h2>



<p>列車が到着したホームの反対側には、早速BRTが停まっています。</p>

<p>小型の電気バスが4台と、中型のディーゼルバス2台が活躍しています。</p>



<p>ホームとBRT専用道の段差はほとんどありません。</p>

<p>ホームから伸びる専用道は、駅前ですぐ脇を走る一般道に合流します。</p>

<h2><span id="toc4">日田駅からBRTに乗車</span></h2>



<p>ここからBRT乗車記です。添田から日田間のBRT区間を乗り通します。</p>

<p>運行開始日から約1週間後の平日に乗車しましたが、</p>



<p>車内は立ち席を含めて満員で、後続に臨時便も出る盛況ぶりでした。</p>

<p>添田駅出発後はすぐに一般道に合流します。今回開業したひこぼしラインは全体が約40kmで</p>



<p>そのうちBRT専用道を走る区間は約14kmほどです。</p>

<p>乗り心地は通常のバスと似ていました。</p>



<p>私が乗車したのは電気バスで、走行時はかなり静かだと感じました。</p>

<p>BRTは「歓遊舎ひこさん」に到着します。こちらは道の駅に停留場があります。</p>



<p>鉄道と異なり柔軟に停留所を設置できるのも、BRTのメリットの1つです。</p>

<h2><span id="toc5">彦山から専用道区間を走行</span></h2>



<p>彦山駅からは専用道を走行していきます。昔あった線路は剥がされ、更地やBRT専用道へと変更されてます。</p>

<p>座席の横にまさかの、USB充電ポートを発見しました。</p>



<p>さすが最新のバスです。車内で携帯の充電もできちゃいます。</p>

<h2><span id="toc6">宝珠山発車後は一般道で終点の日田駅へ</span></h2>



<p>宝珠山駅発車後は終点の日田駅まで一般道を進んでいきます。</p>



<p>しばらく走行して久大本線の橋梁と交差します。</p>

<p>以前は夜明駅から久大本線と日田彦山線が分岐していましたが</p>



<p>現在夜明駅の日田彦山線の線路は撤去されています。</p>

<h2><span id="toc1">気仙沼線と大船渡線がBRTで復旧した理由</span></h2>



<p>BRTはバス・ラピッド・トランジットの略で、</p>



<p>路線バスのような見た目で、バス専用のレーンまたは一般道を走るのが特徴の乗り物です。</p>

<p>BRTで復旧した理由は、主に2つあると考えられます。</p>



<p>1つ目の理由は、<strong><span class="fz-22px">早期の復旧が可能であること</span></strong>です。</p>



<p>東日本大震災を受けて、線路や橋梁・駅舎などに甚大なダメージを受けた2つの路線は</p>



<p>復旧にあたり一般道をルートに組み込むことで、鉄道設備の復旧を待たずとも</p>



<p>バスによる運行を再開することを選択しました。</p>

<p>2つ目の理由は、<span class="fz-20px"><span class="fz-22px"><strong>コストの安さ</strong></span></span>です。</p>



<p>気仙沼線の、100円の営業収入を得るためにかかる費用を示す値「営業係数」は</p>



<p>2009年度が656.9で、多くのお金をかけて鉄道を復旧しても赤字が予想されました。</p>

<p>ここまでBRTの復旧についてお伝えしましたが、同じく被災した三陸鉄道は鉄道で復旧しました。</p>

<p>三陸鉄道の路線は山側に高架・トンネルを多用して建設された区間が多く</p>



<p>被災区間が多かった旧JR山田線区間に関しても、市街地のかさ上げなどを行って鉄道で復旧しました。</p>
